At the stalking – Tips to Stay Safe
As one of the seemingly endless and the scenarios increase in stalking, assault, kidnapping, rape and possible murder, a woman in a plain area of San Diego was walking on the sidewalk when a black sedan began following the old model. The driver asked for his phone number and repeatedly asked him to get into the car. If this happens to you, what would you do? Here are some positive action:
1. First, this thought: Do not ever, ever go into a vehicle with anyone you do not know. Remember Natalee Holloway incident. He went into a car with several young men he did not know and never returned. Underlying his tragic death is a news report that he had been involved in alcohol, maybe drugs, and “partying” – all behavior drastically hinder someone discriminative faculty. Although he was a Straight A student, was so cloudy substance to her assessment that he made a fatal mistake. Please remember that life does not always give a second chance and that this is a wild world. Natalee Holloway never get a second chance because, under the influence of intoxicants and the desire to party, with the assessment that egregiously flawed, which caused him to lose his life and the misery and suffering to countless families, friends and loved ones. However, he had a choice. He could choose not to drink and party and not to get into a car with a young man he did not know. He chose otherwise. He lost … life.
2. Keep your distance! Safety first in self defense is to stay away or get away from potential danger. Trust your instincts, eyes and mind. An unknown car follows you is the danger! Someone that you do not know asking for your personal information is a potential danger. Of course, anyone asks or demands that you go to their vehicles danger incarnate. Go … as fast as you can! If a car pulled along side of you, turn around and go another direction. Finding the crowd if possible. Noise. Draw attention to yourself. Do something but kept his distance.
3. If you feel you’re walking, start moving away, immediately call 911 and leave your phone on charge so it can find you through the GPS (global positioning system) feature.
4. If you have the time and attendance, get a vehicle license plate number. Given that, write it down, take a picture phone, screaming out loud, call the house and left it on your answering machine, call a friend and leave with them.
5. As a general rule, no matter where you go to realize all the time Who’s Watching You. Never make the assumption that an attack could ever happen to you. Aware and ready. It’s your life, but your responsibility. If you do not care, who will?
