1. Wilderness Program
This program lasts for a short period of time, usually four to eight weeks. Wilderness programs usually use natural-based activities such as hiking and camping in the harsh environment. This program is suitable for teenagers who are depressed, engage in drug abuse, adoption issues, eating disorders, oppositional character, anxiety disorders and adolescent suicide. Therapies used are designed depending on the individual issues.
4. Boarding School Special Programs
Special boarding school is one of the long-term programs. This program provides an opportunity for adolescents to education, emotional and behavioral problems to reconstruct or modify their characters with both activities and education. This program is usually run throughout the year and suitable for teens struggling with ADD or ADHD, learning disabilities, weight-related problems, drug abuse, school problems and issues of adoption. Depending on the school, some therapies offer limited every day or day of the week.
Parents should first conduct research on appropriate programs to choose for their teens. Most of these programs differ from one institution to another because of their treatment philosophy and practice.
